Sleigh BellsOne of my favourite albums of this year was released in early May on M.I.A’s label, N.E.E.T. Recordings. It’s from the Brooklyn duo, consisting of Alexis Krauss (who I’m told is not related to the wonderful Alison Krauss) and Derek Miller - Sleigh Bells – and it’s entitled Treats.

This album is incredibly raw and with seemingly no boundaries. It’s catchy, heavy, hip-hoppy, noisy, melodic and damn loud. Really hard to compare this LP to anything… but, if I must; perhaps a thrashier Go! Team. This really is a brilliant piece of work and I wouldn’t be surprised if it sees the year out as my number one album of 2010.
