Awesome Indie Stuff

Bunny Lake, the Austrian electro-clash outfit who borrow their name from the 1965 cult classic, Bunny Lake Is Missing, released their third studio album, The Beautiful Fall, last month… and it’s sensational. The entire LP can be streamed from their website and picked up from iTunes here.

The track 1994 is currently in high rotation at the world’s indie broadcaster, traxxRADIO.

Ruby’s Ramblings

16 May 2010 In: General

k, so, it would seem that in recent times (i.e. last couple of years), Ruby & Kimmy has been somewhat lacking of Ruby. I hereby vow to rectify this by posting at least a few words here and there when I feel. Because I stopped paying any attention to our website such a long time ago, many things stopped working – including Google Analytics – and I’ve therefore absolutely no idea who (if anyone) reads our blog, so apologies if my future posts are completely irrelevant. I’ve gone ahead and repaired all of the broken stuff (I must be bored).

I’ll probably mostly ramble about music, so if you like only the finest, scene, indie tracks, then I’d be hitting some kind of follow button or what evs it is cool kids do these days…

EDIT: So I did some cool kid polling and have added lots of new buttons to the end of each post. Have fun!

Long time, no see!

Sorry about that, blogz0r. I’ve been busy. No, really!

Worked full time for the past month in the Bakery at work, the early mornings killed me at first, but eventually, I got used to it… kind of. I’m glad, but not at the same time that it’s over, more sleep-ins, hopefully… Worked 17 hours last Saturday, but that’s okay… Not all at work, I waitressed too. Soccer last Sunday, first game of the season, won 3-nil, my muscles were feeling it in my unfit body.
Went to AC/DC last night, it was honestly, quite the phenomenal show. I don’t know how Angus Young can still have all that energy at 54, living on tea and cigarettes.

Anyway, that’s my busy month summed up in a few sentences, but yes. I’ll try and post more often. I always say that, don’t I…?

Oh right, I also got asked if I wanted a Traineeship at work, I think I’m going to take it, as the course only goes for a year, and even if I don’t use it after, I still have the skills there that might help me for the future, as well as go to Uni next year if I want, which right now, its looking increasingly unlikely.

Toodle-pip. :)

Regina Spektor is win, I’ve never forgotten that, but I feel is now more than ever. April 21st, she’s here. I want to go, so so much. We’ll see!

University!

21 Jan 2010 In: General

I got my first preference, I found out yesterday, in the only University I applied for. My first preference, though I didn’t mind what I got out of them all, was Computer Science. Even though I got accepted, I don’t know if I even want to go to University, I better make my decision really, REALLY quick! :(

Life’s Fortune

10 Jan 2010 In: General

azure ocean
flaxen sand
lustrous stone
lurid sky

you deride him
yet you console him
you execrate him
yet you adore him

sorrowful phenomenons manifest
the world has no power to undo
for the time that was
has now come
and it is lamentable

and never will the tables turn for the others
for the others are pawns of time
and nothing
nothing is palpable

and not even this picturesqueness
can completely commiserate with him
for the solace that he takes
is solace in the great fortune of life

Metaphorically Speaking

9 Jan 2010 In: General

there’s nothing more
that tears one apart
nothing more
that clenches so hard

i look out through window of time
i see nothing more than what’s gone by
there’s no future out there
nothing I can see might be fair

so I
wonder what this means for me
wonder how it’s meant for me
what?
what’s there?

an apple tree means nothing to me
metaphors don’t sway in the wind
i really don’t like this scene

it ends
it ends here
there’s nothing more
nothing left to see

nothing left to feel

“So here I rest
Where disappointment and regret collide
Lying awake at night”

Happy New Year!

1 Jan 2010 In: General

I finally got in early with one of these things. Happy 2010 to everyone, if you have any resolutions, I hope you keep them, not like me who has had the same one for about three years now. :D

About

Ruby & Kimmy are two very different people in two very different worlds with two very different personalities, aspirations, interests and music tastes. Together they blog about meaningless shit. This is where they do it.
